Día 1

Cusco – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – 2.5-hour tour

Early in the morning, at the agreed time, we will pick you up at your hotel; we will head to the Ollantaytambo train station; there, we will board the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes. After a journey of almost four hours, we will arrive at the Aguas Calientes station, where our guide will be waiting for you with a sign with your name. Then, we will head to the bus station, where we will continue for an additional 30 minutes. We will ascend 400 m along a zigzagging path to reach the “Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu,” also known as “The Lost City of the Incas”. Upon arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu with our guide, we will show the entrance tickets and we will begin the tour throughout the citadel.

For approximately two and a half hours, we will visit the main places of “Machu Picchu”. At the end of the guided tour, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy your lunch in one of the many restaurants or, if you prefer, at the Sanctuary Lodge (lunch is on your own). At the end of the afternoon, we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo (depending on the availability of the train departure time); the return will follow the same route as the outbound journey.
